Established Birth and Postnatal Doula: "I’m Jo, a birth and post-natal doula working across Cornwall and the Devon border. I support all kinds of families and all types of births including those at home, in birth centres and at Derriford and Royal Cornwall hospitals.
I live in a beautiful hamlet in North Cornwall with my husband and three children. As a family we like to enjoy the simple things in life. I bake sourdough bread and enjoy nourishing those around me with food, love and my time. I also practise yoga and meditation and will never say no to a cuppa and cake!
Pregnancy is an exciting time, a sacred time and a time to be honoured and nurtured by those around you. Becoming a parent is an amazing and transformative process, but it can also feel overwhelming as there is so much to think about. As a doula I will walk alongside you listening to your hopes and fears, help you to navigate your way through information and explore all the options available to you. I will do everything I can to enable you to have a positive and empowered birthing experience, no matter where or how you birth your baby.
I trained with Kate in October 2017 and became an established doula in February 2020 after completing Conscious Birthing’s Student programme. I am a trained breastfeeding peer supporter volunteering in the community and on the post-natal ward at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. I am also passionate about reclaiming our traditions around birth and the post-partum period and offer Mother Blessings and Postnatal Sealing Ceremonies.
I share in your excitement about your pregnancy and feel a deep gratitude when you invite me into your sacred and intimate birthing space. If you would like more information about what I offer, please get in touch".
