Every person in their childbearing year deserves more support than our society typically offers. There’s a misconception that it is “woo woo” to have a doula and that the midwives can do it all. In reality, the midwives are primarily there to offer medical interventions which is a very important role when needed. However, as a tantric birthkeeper, I do what the midwives often don’t have time or training for:
- Ensuring your body is nurtured with nutritious food and drinks, loving touch if desired, and the comfort and care needed for rest
- Emotional support and experienced guidance with processing any stories, pressures, fears, self-doubt, traumas, and blocks to you knowing your most empowered and joyful self
- Setting the tone so the atmosphere doesn't feel heavy and you can relax your mind knowing there’s an abundance of love and oxytocin flowing through your body encouraging the waves which welcome your baby earthside
- Helping you to access your intuition so you can feel clear on your preferences and trust yourself if things change so you can go with the flow
- Advocating for your birth preferences and helping you to make informed choices by ensuring medical jargon is brought down to earth
- Discovering which tools help you drop into the altered state of consciousness which can arise in the birth portal to help you connect with your body and your baby which can be similar to the tools you use during menstruation or big emotional processes
- Trusting your ability to birth with love regardless of how your baby comes earthside
- Empowering you to connect with mother nature and your sexual energy so you can meet any pain with the knowing that it is part of a sacred process which can potentially be released into a pleasurable, orgasmic birth experience!
